Temporary ban on operation of vehicles (including bus service) in La Paz from evening of September 1 to evening of September 2 for observance of National Pedestrian Day; some taxis, emergency vehicles to be available

National Pedestrian Day will be observed across Bolivia on Sunday, September 2, notably resulting in the suspension of bus services and a ban on the operation of other vehicles in La Paz from 22:30 (local time) on Saturday, September 1, to 18:00 on Sunday, September 2. However, some taxis will reportedly still be available for transportation to El Alto International Airport (LPB) during the service stoppage, as well as emergency vehicles that receive permits to operate from the offices of the Municipal Secretary of Mobility.
Context
National Pedestrian Day, formally Day of the Pedestrian and the Cyclist in Defense of Mother Earth, is observed annually in Bolivia on the first Sunday of September. In La Paz, city authorities have authorized a pedestrian race, as well as dance, tricycle, and skateboarding competitions to take place on September 2, among other activities.
