Unions call for protests to take place in Buenos Aires and other urban centers on February 13 and 26; localized traffic disruptions expected

The Argentine Workers' Union (CTA) and the Truckers' Federation have called for protests to take place every Thursday, in the capital Buenos Aires, as well as other urban centers Wednesday, February 13 and Tuesday, February 26. A heightened security presence as well as localized traffic disruptions are likely around the vicinity of any demonstration.

A similar protest was held on February 7.

Context

Unions are denouncing recent government economic measures, including nationwide increases in the price of public services and transport. Related protests were held nationwide every Thursdays in January.

Individuals in Buenos Aires and other urban centers are advised to anticipate localized transportation disruptions around protest sites and to avoid all demonstrations as a precaution.
