Warning

Event

The Confederation of Argentine Transport Workers (CATT) announced that a strike is planned for Wednesday, May 1. In a statement released on Tuesday, April 9, union leaders said members will participate in a work stoppage in commemoration of the "Martyrs of Chicago," also known as the Haymarket Affair, and International Workers' Day. The strike is expected to affect rail, subway, and bus services. A related union also called for similar strikes on all upcoming holidays; the country will celebrate National Day on May 25.

Advice

Individuals in Argentina are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate significant public transportation disruptions and increased demand for alternative modes of transportation if the strike is held, and avoid any related public demonstrations as a precaution.
