Marches denouncing violence against women planned in Buenos Aires June 3; associated transportation disruptions expected and additional rallies possible

Marches denouncing violence against women and advocating the legalization of abortion are slated to be held in Buenos Aires on the afternoon and evening (local time) of Monday, June 3. Demonstrators are expected to gather around the Cabildo and at the intersection of Avenidas de Mayo and Luis Sáenz Peña at 15:00 (local time). Demonstrators are then expected to march at 16:00 from the vicinity of the National Congress to the Plaza de Mayo. Another related rally is expected to take place at the intersection of Calle Montevideo and Avenida Rivadavia beginning at 18:00.
Associated transportation disruptions are to be expected near the demonstrations in Buenos Aires. Additional rallies in the capital and other Argentine cities cannot be ruled out.
