Bolivia: Sporadic blockades in La Paz department July 1

Sporadic blockades have been reported in the North and South Yungas routes in the La Paz department on Monday, July 1, due to skirmishes with cocoa leaf growers. It was the sixth day of blockades, and reports indicate that some have turned violent.

More blockades are expected in the coming days. Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are expected in the vicinity of the protests.
