Local groups schedule march to demand local government action in Sucre July 8; transportation disruptions expected

Members of the Civic Committee of Interests of Chiquisaca are slated to march on Monday, July 8, to demand the authorities' attention to several pending issues. The march will begin at 15:00 (local time) at the Sucre City Hall. Some of the outstanding issues include claims to water projects and a property dispute with the former Juana Azurduy de Padilla airport.

A heightened security presence is expected in the vicinity of the protest. Clashes between protesters and authorities cannot be ruled out.
