Activist and victims’ families to denounce institutional abuse nationwide on August 27; heightened security and transportation disruptions expected

Activist groups and victims' family members are set to mobilize on Tuesday, August 27, to denounce institutional abuse on a national level.

At least two protests have been scheduled in the capital Buenos Aires. The main protest will begin at the Congress building at 15:00 (local time) and will proceed to Plaza de Mayo where the main rally is expected to take place. Another will be held at the Forencio Varela (Buenos Aires province) municipal building at 10:00 to demand information regarding a missing person.

Other protests are scheduled in Córdoba, Rosario, Mendoza, Jujuy, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Corrientes, Chaco, Misiones, Cipolletti, Bariloche, El Bolsón, Trelew, San Juan, Catamarca, and in Mar del Plata.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of all protests.
