Ceramic factory workers plan protest in Capitán Bermúdez (Santa Fe province) against economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on July 6; avoid all protests
Event
Labor organizations representing workers of the Ex Verbano ceramics factory in Capitán Bermúdez (Santa Fe province) in the Greater Rosario Metropolitan Area have organized a protest march on Monday, July 6. The protest is being organized to demonstrate against the current situation at the factory resulting from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The porcelain factory ceased production during lockdown and its shareholders have since announced that it is up for sale. Employees of the factory have reportedly not been paid for half of May and the whole of June, or received their Christmas bonuses. Workers will gather at the factory at 10:00 (local time) before marching to the municipality headquarters. Other labor unions have been invited to join the march in solidarity.
A heightened security presence and localized overland disruption are possible in the vicinity of the demonstration.
Advice
Individuals in Capitán Bermúdez are advised to keep abreast of the situation, avoid all protests as a precaution, anticipate transportation disruptions near demonstration sites, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities.
