Suspected militants launched an attack in the Bandiagara Cercle (Mopti region) on Thursday morning, July 23, killing at least three gendarmes that were defending the area. The attack was reportedly carried out by militants on motorcycles and targeted the village of Parou in the Bandiagara Cercle.
Similar militant attacks are possible in the Mopti region over the near term.
