Bolivia: Demonstrators to march in La Paz September 24

On Thursday, September 24, a demonstration march has been planned from El Alto to La Paz by business owners operating entertainment venues such as bars and night clubs and their supporters, to demand that the government allows their businesses to reopen amid the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Establishments which were closed in March as part of the country's efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 are expected to remain closed for the remainder of the year.

Exact timings and locations of the protest march have not been announced; however, overland disruptions should be anticipated on Thursday. A heightened security presence should also be expected and clashes are possible between police and demonstrators.
