Bolivia: Road closures and evacuations ongoing due to severe weather in Cochabamba, April 24
Authorities have closed roads and ordered evacuations, due to strong rains, landslides in Cochabamba, Bolivia, April 24.

Authorities in Cochabamba Department have closed the Cochabamba-Santa Cruz highway (National Route 4) April 24, following heavy rainfall, flooding and landslides in parts of northeastern Cochabamba. The areas most affected by rain and flooding have been Chimore and Ivigarzama, where a nearby river has overflown.
Residents in the affected areas have been evacuated by members of Bolivia's Civil Defense. Hundreds have been affected by the rains, which began late April 23. At least three vehicles and a passenger bus were stuck by the flooding in Ivigarzama.
Significant transport disruptions are likely in northeastern Cochabamba, which are likely to impact road traffic between Santa Cruz and Cochabamba.
Advice
Avoid using the Cochabamba-Santa Cruz highway through at least April 26. Heed instructions from authorities. Allow additional time to reach your destinations near the affected areas.
