Argentina: Flight disruptions likely nationwide starting Jan. 11, due to a protest by air-traffic controllers

Unionized air-traffic controllers and other airport workers in Argentina, affiliated with the Association of Technicians and Employees of Air Navigation Protection and Security (Asociacion de Tecnicos y Empleados de Proteccion y Seguridad de Aeronavegacion, ATEPSA), plan to hold a series of protests starting Jan. 11, to demand additional personnel and better payments. ATEPSA members say COVID-19 infections have forced them to work with minimal personnel, and indicate the latest salary increase was below inflation.
Activists have published a schedule of protests, which will begin Jan. 11. The announced protests will impact flights, including passenger flights, through Jan. 31:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: Cargo flights between 00:01-06:00
Mondays: All flights between 07:00-09:00 and 20:00-22:00
Thursdays: All flights between 10:00-12:00 and 17:00-19:00
Saturdays: All flights between 09:00-11:00 and 15:00-17:00
Friday, Jan. 28: Cargo flights between 00:01-06:00, and all flights between 12:00-14:00 and 18:00-20:00
The announced protests may be canceled or postponed if ATEPSA reaches agreements with the national authorities. Significant flight disruptions are likely, at least in the first days of the protest actions.
