Members of the Polo Obero activist group and other social justice groups are demonstrating in multiple cities the morning of Jan. 19. Protesters are opposed to government employment policies, among other grievances. Organizers stated the protests would occur nationwide; thus far, events have been reported in Buenos Aires and Neuquen. In Buenos Aires, protesters gathered at various points in the city at 11:00 and began marching to the intersections of Av. 9 de Julio, Moreno, and Belgrano. The exact march routes are unclear. In Neuquen, protesters gathered at the Monument to San Martin at 08:30 and began marching through the city to the Ruta Nacional 22 highway; the exact route is unclear.

Security forces are likely to deploy to monitor proceedings. Traffic disruptions are likely near protest locations and march routes Jan. 19. Clashes between police and protesters are unlikely, though cannot be ruled out.
