Cayman Islands: Authorities ease COVID-19-related restrictions Feb. 18 /update 31
Officials in the Cayman Islands ease COVID-19-related international travel and domestic restrictions from Feb. 18.
Event
Authorities in the Cayman Islands updated COVID-19-related international travel and domestic restrictions Feb. 18 as the country enters phase five of its reopening plan.
Authorities have lifted post-arrival testing requirements for international travelers, except for those who display symptoms of COVID-19 or are staying in the same accommodations as individuals who must quarantine; pre-arrival testing requirements remain unchanged, however. Additionally, unvaccinated children aged 11 or younger are exempt from self-isolation if accompanied by adults who are not subject to quarantine requirements. Moreover, the quarantine period has been reduced from 10 to seven days for unvaccinated individuals, those who cannot verify their vaccination status and have been in a country with a vaccination rate under 60 percent, and unvaccinated children aged 11 or younger traveling with such persons. Fully vaccinated persons staying in the same accommodations as family members who are required to quarantine must take a daily antigen test if they wish to go out during the family members' isolation period.
Domestic Measures
Individuals must wear protective facemasks in indoor public settings. Nevertheless, authorities increased the size limit on indoor and outdoor gatherings and lifted vaccination requirements to enter most establishments. Under the new directives, most gatherings are limited to 500 people indoors and 1,000 people outside.

All passengers over the age of five are required to submit a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken no more than 24 hours prior to their departure for the Cayman Islands. All travelers must receive approval to enter the territory through the Travel Cayman system prior to departure.
Persons who provide verifiable proof of having been fully vaccinated, or do not have verifiable proof but have remained in a country with vaccination rates exceeding 60 percent in the 14 days prior to travel, as well as their children aged 11 or younger, are not required to quarantine. Travelers who are unvaccinated or are arriving from a country with vaccination rates lower than 60 percent and do not have verifiable proof of vaccination, as well as their children aged 11 or younger, must quarantine for seven days. Individuals must isolate at a government-approved location. GPS tracking is required for those allowed to isolate at a private residence and authorities may carry out checks.
Authorities could also move to reimpose, extend, tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
