Cayman Islands: Authorities extend COVID-19-related restrictions through June 30 /update 34
Cayman Islands extend current COVID-19-related restrictions through June 30.
Event
Authorities in the Cayman Islands have issued orders to extend the territory's COVID-19-related restrictions through at least June 30.
Domestic Measures
Individuals must wear protective facemasks in indoor public settings if they cannot maintain social distancing measures. Most gatherings are limited to 750 people, except in offices, education centers, churches, healthcare centers, and shelters.
International Travel Restrictions
All passengers over the age of five must submit a negative result from a PCR or antigen test taken no earlier than the day before their departure for the Cayman Islands. Before departure, all travelers must receive approval to enter the territory through the Travel Cayman system. Unvaccinated travelers must apply no less than five days before departing to the islands, while vaccinated travelers must apply no less than 72 hours before their departure.
Persons who provide verifiable proof of having been fully vaccinated and their children ages 11 or younger are not required to quarantine. Unvaccinated travelers must quarantine for seven days upon arrival; individuals must self-isolate at a government-approved location. Fully vaccinated persons staying in the same accommodations as family members who are required to quarantine must take a daily antigen test if they wish to go out during the family members' isolation period. GPS tracking is required for those allowed to isolate at a private residence, and authorities may carry out checks.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
Advice
Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements.
