Mexico: Activists block Federal Highway 95D in Chilpancingo, Guerrero State, June 8

Activists and family members of the victims of the 2014 Ayotzinapa mass kidnapping have blocked the Autopista Del Sol (Federal Highway 95D) in Chilpancingo, Guerrero State, June 8. The demonstrators are demanding more answers on the statuses of the victims of the kidnapping. The gathering has led to traffic disruptions in the area.

While the action has thus far remained largely peaceful, there will probably be an increased police presence near the demonstration. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely in the area over the coming hours.
