Argentina: Unionized transport workers suspend nationwide strike scheduled for Aug. 2-3 /update 1

Transport workers affiliated with the Automotive Tramway Union (Union Tranviarios Automotor, UTA) have suspended their strike that was scheduled to take place across Argentina Aug. 2-3. Activists initially announced the strike as a means to demand better salaries, but the strike was canceled following a decision by the government to start negotiations with the unions. Public transport services are running normally.
