Activists plan to hold a rallies in Buenos Aires Aug. 27 in support of Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner. Activists belonging to the Frente de Todos (FdT) group will gather at Parque Lezama at 15:00, with another rally taking place in Parque Chacabuco at the same time. A third rally by the Comuna 15 group is expected in Parque Los Andes on the same day. The rallies have been called in protest over the prosecution's request that the vice president face 12 years in prison and face permanent disqualification from office in an ongoing fraud trial.

Further protests may occur nationwide. A heightened security presence is likely surrounding all protest sites. Counter-protests may take place, and clashes between protesters and counter-protesters or security forces are possible.
