Argentina: Striking health workers plan to march in Buenos Aires Oct. 19

Unionized workers of the Hospital Garrahan plan to hold a strike and march in downtown Buenos Aires Oct. 19, to demand salary increases. Activists are striking through 21:00, and plan to gather outside Hospital Garrahan, located along Avenida Pichincha, starting at 10:00. From there they intend to march to the Ministry of Economy, located in front of Plaza de Mayo, where a rally is scheduled at 12:30.

Transport disruptions throughout the route of the march are likely. Heightened security near government offices is also likely. Nonemergency services at Hospital Garrahan are likely to be affected.
