The Argentine Workers' Central Union (Central de Trabajadores de la Argentina, CTA) has called for a protest in Buenos Aires Dec. 5 to demand salary increases and a universal minimum wage, among other grievances. Participants are expected to gather from 10:00 at the Avenida Belgrano-Avenida 9 de Julio intersection before marching towards the Ministry of Economy. Hundreds to several thousands of people may attend; various unions intend to participate.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic and business disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the march. Clashes with security forces are possible, especially if protesters become overly disruptive. Similar gatherings are also possible in other urban centers, Dec. 5.
