Mali's electric utility provider Energie du Mali-SA (EDM-SA) has announced plans to temporarily disrupt the supply of electricity in several districts in Bamako and surrounding locations between the hours of 07:00-17:00 March 18-19. While the utility provider did not disclose the exact locations, the purpose of the interruptions is to allow for scheduled maintenance work on the network.
The electricity supply disruptions could extend beyond the estimated power restoration time. Transport disruptions are possible in areas subject to malfunctioning traffic signals. Localized business disruptions are also possible in impacted areas.
